The Belfast & Giant Causeway day tour itinerary also includes visits to: Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Dunluce Castle, White Park Bay, Ballintoy, the Antrim Coast and one hour of free time in Belfast.

The Giant’s Causeway is a must-visit in Ireland: this spectacular site is formed by nearly 40,000 basalt columns of volcanic origin, or according to legend this ‘stepping stones’ disappearing under the sea were built by the giant Finn McCool to cross over to Scotland.

On the tour you will also visit Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, built originally by fishermen to help them catch salmon; the Dark Hedges also known as the famous King’s Road in Season 2 of the hit TV series Game of Thrones; Ballintoy, a picturesque small village also filming location for Game of Thrones sets; Dunluce Castle, one of the most romantic castles in Ireland. Along the way, enjoy fantastic coastal views. In Belfast city, we have organised a brief city tour taking in City Hall, the Titanic Dry Dock and Victoria Square Centre with its 360 degree views of the city.

Departing from Dublin at 7am and back in Dublin by 8:15 pm. The Belfast & Giants Causeway day tour is available to groups of 10 people minimum.

The itinerary for the day includes:

Giant’s Causeway – A UNESCO-listed natural site with nearly 40,000 basalt columns or ‘stepping stones’ disappearing under the sea. They reappear in the island of Straffe, and according to legend they were built by the giant Finn McCool to cross over to Scotland.

Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge – Stroll along the windswept coastal path with amazing views to and from the rope bridge. Traditionally fishermen erected the bridge to Carrick-a-Rede Island over a chasm 23m deep and 20m wide, to harvest salmon from their nets. Enjoy views of the Mull of Kintyre in Scotland and Rathlin Island.

Dark Hedges – One of the most popular natural phenomena in Northern Ireland, the Dark Hedges were used as a set for the hit TV series Game of Thrones. It was the famous King’s Road in Season 2. The hedges were planted by the Stuart family in the 18th century. It was intended to impress visitors as they approached the entrance to their home, Gracehill House. Two centuries later, the trees remain a magnificent sight and have become known as the Dark Hedges.

Ballintoy – Picturesque small village, Ballintoy was an ideal location for several Game of Thrones sets. You will recognize the landscapes from season 2 that were used in some of the most crucial scenes in the series.

Dunluce Castle – Photo stop at Dunluce Castle, home to the McDonnell Clan for many years and considered the most romantic castle in Ireland. En route we will pass Bushmills, famed for the fantastic whiskey of the same name.  From Ballycastle and Dunluce you will enjoy fantastic coastal views, spectacular scenery, and fabulous unspoiled beaches.

Belfast – Brief city tour taking in City Hall, the Titanic Dry Dock and Victoria Square Centre with its 360 degree views of the city.

8.30pm – Back in Dublin after a great day out.
